VIDEO: Rainbow Galaxy Earrings | Polymer Clay with Alcohol Ink Tutorial

Have you ever wondered whether polymer clay can be used with alcohol inks? Luckily, the answer is YES! This technique can bring amazing results and is also quite easy, even suitable for beginners. So let’s have a look on our Polymer Clay x Alcohol Ink tutorial 🙂

We will create these Rainbow Galaxy earrings, material and tools needed for this project are:

  • Polymer clay – 1 colour, preferably ligh
  • Acrylic roller
  • Ink diluent
  • Alcohol inks – various colours
  • Metallic powder – bronze or gold
  • 2 paintbrushes
  • Cookie cutters – small and large circle
  • …and standard tools and components to finish your earrings to your liking 🙂

And here is the video tutorial for you to enjoy!

So, you may wonder whether you can substitute the diluent, the answer is yes, but the recommendation is no 🙂 It’s not expensive and you can buy it together with alcohol inks, so there should be no trouble.

But if you, for whatever reason, really need to substitute it – the diluent is mainly based on alcohol, so if you use rubbing alcohol, or a hand disinfection based on alcohol, you may achieve same good results.

We hope you enjoyed this fun and easy tutorial! If you are a total beginner at polymer clay and you would like to learn the basics to create earrings like this, feel free to check our online course Learn to Make Polymer Clay Jewelry.
